What is OroLiv?
OroLiv is a protein bar built around whole foods — almonds, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, blueberries, dates and chocolate — with 14 grams of protein in a 50 gram bar. It was created by founder Samir Hanna Safar, who is 71, from the breakfast he actually eats. The name comes from oro (gold) and liv (life): the golden years.
How much protein is in one OroLiv bar?
Each 50 gram bar contains 14 grams of protein, which is 28% of the Daily Value used on US nutrition labels. The bar also has 230 calories, 3 grams of fibre and 7 grams of total sugars, of which 3 grams are added.
Why is OroLiv aimed at older adults?
Muscle mass tends to decline with age, and researchers in geriatric nutrition have argued for years that many adults over 65 do better on more protein than the standard adult recommendation. Convenient, appealing, high-protein food is often the practical obstacle. OroLiv was designed to be an easy, enjoyable way to add protein to the day — not a medical product, and not a meal replacement.
Does OroLiv contain nuts or other allergens?
Yes — OroLiv contains tree nuts: almonds, pecans, walnuts and pistachios. Anyone with a tree nut allergy should not eat it. The bar is made without gluten.
Is OroLiv gluten-free?
Yes. OroLiv is formulated without gluten-containing ingredients. It is also GMO-free, free of artificial flavors, and contains no added MSG.
Is OroLiv artificially sweetened?
No. The sweetness comes from Medjool dates and honey rather than artificial sweeteners. A 50 gram bar has 7 grams of total sugars, 3 grams of which are added.
Does the bar really contain broccoli and goat cheese?
No. The founder eats broccoli and goat cheese for breakfast, and that breakfast is where the idea started — but neither one made it into the bar.
When can I buy OroLiv, and how much will it cost?

Is a pre-order a purchase?
No. Submitting the pre-order form places no order and takes no payment. It simply tells us you are interested and lets us contact you when bars are available.
